MORE THAN A DANCE CLASS
Motherhood can be a lot.
Baby Dance Out is a moment to move your body again, get out of the house and connect with other moms who are in a similar phase of life.
And of course: babies have their own schedule. Some weeks will go smoothly, others won’t. Feeding, crying, changing or simply having an off day is all part of it. There’s no pressure to perform or dance perfectly.
We intentionally work with courses instead of drop-in classes. Seeing the same faces every week makes it easier to connect, exchange experiences and actually build a little community together.
While our community is mainly built around moms, Baby Dance Out is an inclusive space. Dads, co-parents and parents of all genders are welcome.
What if i miss a class?
We know life with a baby isn’t always predictable and missing a class is absolutely okay.
Every week you’ll receive a short tutorial with the part of the choreography you learned in class. That way you can catch up whenever it works for you and simply join the group again the following week.
You’ll also get access to a complete Baby Dance Out class in our online library, so you can dance and move from home too.
IMPORTANT TO KNOW
For Baby Danceout classes for babies from 0-2 years old, your baby needs to be in a baby carrier during the dancing part of the class.
Our 2+ class is more focused on the interaction between child and parent. You won’t need a carrier.
You don’t need any previous dance experience. The choreography is designed to be accessible and easy to follow while carrying your baby.
Baby dance out is mainly focused on moms and building a community between mothers, but our classes are open to dads, co-parents and parents of all genders too.
About your teacher
Maria Alabern is a professional dancer and mother, whose life has always been deeply connected to art, movement, and human connection.
She started training intensively in Ballet and Contemporary Dance in Barcelona. But from 2018, she discovered African Street Styles, which sparked a deep passion that continues to shape her artistic journey today.
In 2021, Maria moved alone from Barcelona to the Netherlands to expand her knowledge and develop her career as a dancer, teacher, and choreographer.
Motherhood became another transformative part of her journey. Throughout pregnancy and postpartum, dance remained a powerful way for her to reconnect with her body, release tensions, express herself and feel like herself beyond motherhood.
This inspired her to create Carry & Groove, a project where she creates dance sessions in Afrobeats music for mothers to move their bodies, reconnect with themselves and have fun, while keeping their babies close.
For Maria, dance is much more than an art form, it is a tool for connection, healing, self-expression, and spreading love and unity.
